Final Day Of #SOL15 Making Changes, Making Progress
posted on March 31, 2015 This year is coming to a close so fast, I think Iââ¬â¢m getting whiplash. It seems like just yesterday, I was starting out at a new school, meeting new students, learning new teacher names, figuring out where the ice machine is. Now, Iââ¬â¢m trying to keep up with my grading, planning to attend an Oklahoma Council ofà Teachers of English spring conference, the Oklahoma Scholastic Media conference, and is that the testing train I hear? The next thing I know, it will be May! That said, I am planning an awesome (If I do say so myself!) unit for National Poetry Month this April. While the students are stressing over tests, theyââ¬â¢ll be playing with poetry in my classroom. Perhaps this will help them de-stress a little. You can see the materials I plan to use here and here. Naturally, as we prepare for tests, and for learning about poetry, we need to work together in groups. So my kids and I took some time after the #OklaEdRally today to rearrange my classroom: Naturally, I had to play with the posterize feature in Photoshopâ⬠¦ Michelle WatersI am a secondary English Language Arts teacher, a University of Oklahoma student working on my Masterââ¬â¢s of Education in Instructional Leadership and Academic Curriculum with an concentration in English Education, and a NBPTS candidate. I am constantly seeking ways to amplify my studentsââ¬â¢ voices and choices.
